Little Goslings

The past three weeks Matt and I have been watching the nest of the resident momma goose. (Matt has affectionately named her Helen) The eggs finally hatched today! So far we can count 4… but we think there is another hiding in the very front of the nest. Too cute!

Update: May 2nd. It looks like 2 eggs didnt hatch and mamma goose has abandoned the nest to start a new one across the pond. So sad. But the four little ones are too cute. Its crazy to watch instinct take over between the mother goose and the father goose. The dad hung around and gaurded the nest from afar  before the eggs hatched. Any other duck that got too close to their nest would have heck to pay for! Honking and feathers flying everywhere. (thank goodness for my 70-200 lens!) Dad goose didnt really pay any big attention to the actual nest before they hatched but was watching over very proud the day they were born (above photo) Now whereever they travel the babies are in the middle of both of them. And they are even more protective than ever!

Abby launched Style Me Pretty as a way to stay connected to the industry and to continue to challenge herself creatively. “As a blogger, I am forever in search of inspiration…whether it’s my grandfather’s sketches or my niece’s paintings, the perfect pair of ballet flats or a blush colored peony. There are no boundaries for inspiration. I write about all things beautiful. All things wedding. Everyday, I post my favorite finds, my latest loves…And in the midst of all the beautiful pictures and the beautiful weddings, my only hope is that I will inspire you in some small way, to translate that perfect picture in your head into a day that will make you smile for years to come.” This is the creative process that Abby will share with us and take us through on May 3rd at our event at Saltwater Farm.

Tracee and Dennis’ Engagement Session in Benicia

When Tracee called me last month about her wedding I couldn’t believe it. Why? Well she was getting married on a boat, and just the week before I was asked if I ever photographed a wedding on a boat. Its like it was meant to be! So it was only fitting that we started their e session at the Benicia Yacht Club, where their boat would take off the day of their wedding this week. We hit all the local spots and ended at their house that overlooks the water.

Check back in a few weeks for their wedding. And my first wedding on a boat. Wish me luck there’s no motion sickness!

Welcome Owen Bartozek!

Some of you may remember Lydia and Rays Napa wedding.  I recently had the honor of photographing Lydia while she was pregnant and was invited back to photograph Owen for his first shoot.  I can’t wait to see Owen grow in his first year.  He is such a beautiful baby boy and was a joy to be around.  Congratulations Lydia and Ray!

Adeline & Grace Photography West Presents Video

Adeline & Grace Photography’s Sample Wedding Video from Adeline & Grace Photography on Vimeo.

Adeline & Grace West presents video!! I’m so excited to now offer this service to my clients. Ken, my new associate has years of video experience and has a cinematic approach to wedding video. This is not your typical wedding documentary.

This is just a snippet of whats to come. Full reel video expected to be released in the next few weeks. To be put on the list to receive the demo reel just leave a comment below. Ill let you know when its dropped in the mail!

I had some of the best in the industry to help with this promo:

Brandy Cabral from Bliss Event Productions put the vision of the reception together with the help of La Tavola Linen and Classic Party Rentals. I cant say enough good things about Brandy. Her designs skills along with her uber calmness on the wedding day makes it a pleasure to work with her and to have her as your wedding planner.

Jennifer from Lush Floral, my new neighbor at the studio but long time friend created the flowers. I heart the colors!

Morgan Cullen, the jack of all trades helped with hair and makeup. She also brought along 4 wedding dresses that she designed herself! You should bookmark her blog Runway Daily where she gives daily tips on fashion.

The wedding took place at the Historic Arsenal in Benicia, at the same location of my studio. The space is so cool: exposed brick with white column pillars. It feels like a mix of a regal ballroom meets dance studio. It would be the perfect place for an artsy couple to have a wedding reception. It just has that art studio vibe.

A little bit of Grace Ormonde men holding the bouquet action…

Tell me that isnt a beautiful linen??!

Castle Hill in Newport Rhode Island: Stephanie and Brian

This was a fun engagement. I always have fun with my engagement session, but Stephanie and Brian made this one extra fun. Not only did Brian dress for the occasion but they brought there own ideas about how they wanted to pose and look. They did everything I asked and had a blast doing it. If this is the indication of how there wedding day is going to be, I can’t wait.
We started out were the two will be getting married, at Castle Hill in Newport RI.  We walked around the grounds, chatting about our day.  Then we hopped in the car and took our session on the road. We went to all of my favorite spots. They were good sports about any idea I had at that particular time. I new it was time to call it a wrap when we got into town and all of our stomachs started to growl while walking past Brick Alley Pub on Themes street. Stephanie and Brian went off to there tasting and I headed home. I had a great time guys, thank you!!

Kate and Derek’s Engagement Session in Napa

Kate and Derek could not have picked a prettier place to have their engagement session. We met up at Alston Park in Napa just before sunset. Luckily for all of us Kate’s parents came along to tire out their dog before she was ready for her moment in front of the camera.

As Derek, Kate and I were walking the trails taking photos their dog came running and bounding from the top of hill, soooo excited to see them. Poor baby didnt see the ditch and took a sliding face plant into the trail. Thank god she was ok… just a little grass burn. I still can’t believe she was ok!

Check back at the end of May for their wedding at Auberge! View all of the engagement photos here.

the adorable flower wreath was made by Kates mom:

Quite possibly the longest tongue ever!

“hey sexy mama!”

Gina and Michael on the Sonoma Square

I love to hear all of my couples love stories… and Gina and Michael’s was no exception. They followed the same path of their parents by meeting in high school and since becoming high school sweethearts. They officially met at the young age of 12, dated, lost touch and then found each other again, just like their parents! Crazy similarities!

by far my fav… either in color or black and white….
