Meritage Wedding Photos Napa | Angela and Jason

Most Memorable Moment: Well, her sisters speech was very memorable! : )

Last year when I first met Angela she was on a whirlwind weekend of meeting with wedding vendors and finding her wedding dress. She sent me a photo soon after and I fell in love!! OMG I love this dress you have no idea! The lace, the ribbon… it all came together perfectly and Angela looked stunning in it! Their wedding last Saturday took place at the Meritage in Napa in the spa’s wine cave. The setting was beautiful! The rest of the night was full of dancing and fun.

Could I ask for a more beautiful bride and bridesmaids… geez!

LOVE the pops of color. Flower by Viola Floral Design

Angela and Jason opted for a first sight. I LOVE FIRST SIGHTS! Its the only time a couple is really alone the whole day. I love their reactions… after we took photos of them we also did ALL of the family portraits! Relaxed and easy.

After the ceremony we snuck out for a few. They really wanted photos at the top of the property in the vineyards and the oak trees. What you dont see here is how INCREDIBLY cold it was!!!! Thank you Angela and Jason for being troopers. I think it was well worth it!

Jon & Laura’s Engagement Session in Sausalito

My face hurt from laughing so hard at Jon and Laura’s engagement session. They are freaking hilarious! Their dogs Tahoe and Zermatt have personalities of their own too, as seen below. Thanks for being a blast… I can not wait for the wedding now!

too sweet…

Beautiful Afternoon in Newport, RI

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Missie and Andy in Newport this past weekend.  Missie and Andy are getting married on June 12th in Massachusetts.  Their reception will be at the Lyman Estate.  We were a little nervous about the weather when we started the session.  There was so much fog you could not see the ocean, but within a half an hour the sun popped out and it made for a beautiful afternoon.  One cute tidbit I can’t wait to see at the wedding is the Del’s stand, which will be serving alcohol and regular Del’s, at the reception.  As luck would have it a Del’s truck pulled up as we were shooting.  I am so excited for their wedding.  I can’t wait to share their pictures with you!

Brides Choice Awards Winner!

Were excited to announce that we were nominated for the 2009 Wedding Wire Brides Choice Awards! Thanks to all of the couples who reviewed our services.

This explains a bit more about the award, taken directly from the site: In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds (brides and grooms) through surveys and reviews. Our winning vendors have set the bar high for this competition, demonstrating excellent service and expertise in their industry.

Colleen and Rob Engagement Session in the Presidio and Fort Mason

Last Sunday night I had the pleasure of hanging out with Rob and Colleen at whats now a very special place to them both: Fort Mason. It was here that Rob proposed to Colleen…. and had his friends staked out in the bushes with cameras taking pictures! LOVE IT!

Thank you Colleen and Rob for daring to go out in tornado winds… especially in a dress girl… you are a trooper!

Now that is what I call God light!

Rob proposed to Colleen just around this area in Fort Mason. He designed the ring himself. Lucky girl ~ that is a ring I would love to have!

love the contrast in this image…

Engagement Session at The Carneros Inn Napa | Nathan and Louisa

Why the Carneros Inn for Nathan and Louisa’s engagement session? Well that’s where Nathan proposed to her… with one of the cutest ways possible. Louisa was out in SF from DC for business and Nathan decided to make a fun weekend out of it. Except Louisa had NO IDEA what was in store. Nathan planned everything to a T with a sort of “scavenger hunt” for the weekend full of little love notes and clues along the way.

Louisa’s first surprise was the trip to Napa, as she had just assumed that they were staying in San Francisco for the weekend. As soon as they arrived to the Carneros they were off to the spa. Nathan excused himself to the sauna… only he really ran back to the hotel room to put his final plan into play:

A rose petal walkway with candles leading to a Tiffanys box… only an empty box with a note inside with instructions leading to another Tiffanys box, with yet another note! Louisa left the spa… utterly relaxed without a care in the world. She completely looked over the rose petal walkway and the candles… halfway thinking to herself “hey, that cottage looks like its on fire?” She knocked on her door only to hear Nathan yell “other door!!!!” (their cottage had two entrances) Ok, so Louisa walks past EVERY box with a note straight to Nathan. He turns her around and they went through every box together. After 3 empty boxes he pulled a ring from his pocked, got down on one knee and proposed. This is one marriage that is going to have excitement at every turn!

Check back in August for when I share how they met….

These two are in LHHHUVE. I had to walk away a few times it was so darn cute!!

I always suggest to my couples to have their makeup trial on the same day as their engagement session. Why not test drive how it will photograph? Louisa secured the ever so fabulous Chris McDonald of the Dream Team.  She looks fab eh?

Napa Wedding Photographer | Chris and Mallory

Mallory and Chris picked some pretty cool locations for their engagement session. And mother nature was on our side the whole day with AWESOME yummy light! We started out at Nickel and Nickel Winery. Gold mine for a location! And right up my alley with old barns and oak trees all around. Next stop was Rutherford Hill Winery on our way to my fav tree lined road.

Check back in early September for their wedding at The Harvest Inn!

I adore this photo….

The photo on the right was a dip gone wrong. So glad it went wrong cause thats my favorite photo from the afternoon!

Dennis and Tracee’s Yacht Wedding

Fun Fact: Remember a few weeks ago when I said how much I loved my couples “how they met” stories. Tracee and Dennis met by chance. Sorta. One day while at their sons baseball games Dennis offered up a ticket to Jersey Boys. Tracee was the lucky girl who got to go. And the rest is history!

Tracee and Dennis had a one of a kind wedding in many ways. They actually had two ceremonies on the same day! One at a church in Benicia and the other aboard a yacht a few hours later. I loved that they incorporated their children into both ceremonies as their bridal party. Each child having a special part in each of the ceremonies. Tracee’s children walked her down the aisle and later on her daughter Kayli even sang at the boat ceremony.

The rest of the night was full of good food and LOTS of dancing. I hope you two had a great time in Niagara Falls! See you at the cocktail party!

The dashing Dennis:

tell me this isnt the cutest thing ever!

this was too cute not to post! One of the little girls fell asleep during the ceremony. yep. thats drool. :)

It rained all day long!!! But it didnt stop them from having a great day!

Night shot of the Carquinez Bridge. This is the bridge you pass over to get to and from the studio…

San Francisco Wedding Photographer | Michelle and Tom

If if wasnt for Tom being the gentleman that he was Michelle and Tom never would have met. It was late at night and Michelle was just getting home from work. She had a suitcase that she was pulling out of her trunk and Mr Gentleman Tom rushed over to help. Little did he know the suitcase was empty!

Check back in October, their wedding location is so rad. Yes, I said rad. Olive trees, Tuscan feel, nature, golf course. Intrigued? You’ll have to check back then!

I looooove this photo! So what if the wind picked up!

Praveen & Sujata in San Francisco

Sujata and Praveen’s engagement session locations were perfect! Our first stop in San Francisco was where they first met: 111 Minna, a gallery in downtown. They even wore the same outfits they were wearing the first night the met (now thats some memory!) Afterwards we hopped on over to Sir Francis Drake Hotel, where Praveen proposed to Sujata. This hotel is awesome is you have never been before. Beautiful chandeliers, plush furniture and scenic places to shoot. A photographers dream!

Their wedding in September is going to be a feast for the eyes! 4 days of celebrations, amazing color and dancing. I cant wait!

this makes me smile…
