Wente Vineyards Wedding Photography | Adam & Jenn

When I photographed Adam and Jennifer at their engagement session in Vegas earlier this year I could tell their wedding photos were going to be a breeze. They have a passion and love for each other that will stand the test of time and their love for one another only amplifies in photos. I love the smile that comes across Jen’s face when when she gets around Adam, the funny guy. During their vows Jen explained she wouldn’t want to live a day without Adam making her laugh. And laugh they did!

Their wedding at Wente Vineyards in Livermore last week was the combining of two great families into one. The day was set to be over 100 degrees, but right before the ceremony the wind picked up and you couldnt even feel the heat! Dinner and dancing happened well into the night…. oh my can you guys dance! As I was leaving (camera already packed up unfortunately!) Adam pulled out his Michael Jackson moves. Classic.

Here are some photos from their day. To see all of their photos click here.

No matter where Jen goes there her nose is always in a book. So this photo is for you Adam:

Since Adam is a chef they decided to incorporate his favorite herb to cook with as centerpieces. These also dubbed as favors for the guests to take home. Love this! Its the gift/favor that keeps on giving!

Jennifer & Keith

Ahh, Jennifer….what a ham! I have actually known Jennifer and Keith for quite a few years now. It is so crazy to shoot friends! They see me at work and I see them through the lens. Keith was a trooper as we walk around their neighborhood. Jennifer can definitely work the camera and Keith held his own. Jennifer and Keith are getting married at Glen Manor House this September. I can’t wait to see their wedding and all the little details. Enjoy guys!

Taylor & Bobby

Improvise! That was what we needed to do on yet another rainy day. Our first engagement session was rained out and with Bobby’s crazy golfing schedule we had no choice but to figure a way to shoot in the rain. The Hotel Viking was kind enough to let us use their hotel as a backdrop. Both Taylor and Bobby were into it, which is always great! It was easy for Bobby to make Taylor laugh and vice versa. That’s what these session should be, fun! Taylor and Bobby are getting married August 30th at the Astors’ Beechwood Mansion in Newport. Stay tuned to see them on their wedding day!

Images in Parking Lots

Last week at Gina and Michaels wedding I took a few photos of them in a parking lot. This past Saturday at Adam and Jen’s wedding I ended up in a parking lot again! It dawned on me that I do this QUITE a lot! The first time I did this was a few years ago at Dhivya and Jays wedding. I’ve told this story to many couples before, but I think it warrants a post on the blog: The night before Dhivya and Jays wedding I received a call from Dhivya telling me our post ceremony photo session would be cut short. The location we were planning on going to would be out of the picture. She gave me the address of a park to scout out in the morning that they would meet us at. When I arrived it looked like labor day weekend + 100 degree weather with people everywhere!! I was in a panic. I wanted them to have the best photos EVER yet where was I supposed to take them at? I started driving around the area.

Side-note: For the east-coasters out there: This was in the San Jose-Milpitas area aka Silicon Valley… which is generally a lot of office buildings, and no greenery in sight.

I found an office building with some cool architecture and a few shrubs and gave them the address to meet me at. When we got back at Dhiyvas parents house for the reception I proudly told her mother “we shot your daughters wedding photos in a parking lot” She look terrified! In the end she loved the photos! (The photos arent loading for Dhivya and Jays wedding right now but Ill post asap)

Moral of the blog post? You never know where the perfect location might come from. Just go with the flow and see what we come up with. And if it doesnt come out perfect… well at least you had fun doing it right? ; )

Check back in a few days for more of Jen and Adam. They are so cute together its unreal!

Vine Hill House Wedding Photography | Michael & Gina

Most Memorable Moment: Sorry Michael, you might hate me for this but it was so DARN CUTE! As Gina was walking down the aisle Michael started tearing up. Friends and family in the front thought it was cute, but started laughing at him and looked at Michael instead of Gina. Michael, through tears instructed everyone “stop looking at me, look at Gina!!!”  (of course when the ceremony started those people were crying too!)

Michael and Gina had been planning their wedding for over a year and finally it was here! So much anticipation and planning, all the little details set in place. There was a certain sweetness to their wedding that I just cant put my finger on. Maybe its the cute little potted plant name card holders that Michael and Gina grew themselves for the past few months. Or perhaps their brothers and sisters were in each others bridal party standing up for them.  Most of all its the way Gina looks at Michael and the way Michael grins ear to ear when she smiles at him. It makes me happy to see what the future has in store for them. Hope you are having a blast in Mexico!

Vine Hill House in Sebastapol is an AMAZING place to get married. When Gina and Michael were telling me about it it sounded too good to be true: House on the property to stay and get ready at, panorama views of vineyards during dinner, redwood trees and my favorite thing: yummy light all day long! Almost everything was back-lit or in the shade for a majority of the day. This of course is a photographers dream!

Their ceremony was one of a kind. It included audience participation and real honest to goodness advice on how to keep a marriage lasting throughout the years. It also included a few props, like an etch a sketch.

Stephanie & Brian

Stephanie and Brian had their reception at Castle Hill in Newport, Rhode Island. The reception was under a tent, on a hill top over looking the ocean. The view inside the tent was just as amazing. Flowers by Semia made these exquisite, tall arrangements in a glass vase filled with water and white Orchids. All the tables were named after a certain year and they all had a coordinating picture, one for each of their birth years, one for the day their parents were married and so on. It was really sweet. They had two Adirondack chairs as their guest sign in book and printed out a family tree on the gift table. Stephanie’s Dad shed a few tears as he gave his speech. Later on, everyone danced the night away thanks to Victor from Party time.

more to come in a few days from their wedding at Vine Hill House in Sebastapol.

Courtney & Spencer

Courtney and Spencer were married at Belle Mer in Newport, Rhode Island. There were these amazing tall puffy clouds that luckily kept their distance. They decided to have a first sighting, even after being together for a long time they were still so excited to see each other all dressed up. Spencer spun her around to check out the whole package ;) They had a beautiful ceremony on the lawn near the water.

Laura & Clark

Laura and Clark were married on beautiful Elihu Island in Connecticut. This was yet another rainy day, and it even sprinkled a little, but these two weren’t going to let a little rain and a gray sky ruin their day. Laura sparkled in a Vera Wang dress and the guys looked sharp in navy blue jackets and khaki pants.  Jennie Fresin was Lara’s makeup artist.  Sarah True planned their special day with amazing detail.  There were gorgeous orchids on the tables by Hana Floral, Japanese lanterns giving a warm glow underneath the tent, a yummy candy bar and these cute little table numbers made with boater’s rope on candle holders. Congratulations Laura & Clark!
