Wedding at CIA St Helena | Shannon & Jim

To say that Shannon and Jim are thrill seekers would be an understatement. The day that Jim proposed to Shannon they took a bike ride. This wasnt any old bike ride, this was a bike ride titled the Death Ride, a 130 mile road ride that starts at 5am with 5 mountain passes and 15,000 feet of elevation gain.

At the very end of the ride it started raining and hailing, but they made it! Even though it was raining Jim convinced Shannon to leave the refuge of the dry tent to go take a picture of the pass they biked up. It was there that Jim asked Shannon to marry him! I cant believe Jim biked 130 miles with a ring in his pocket.. the suspense must have been killing him!

When setting a wedding date they just couldn’t fathom waiting to get married until next spring… so they planned the whole wedding in two months! Seeing everything put together by Napa Valley Celebrations and Valley Flora you would have had no idea. It was stunning! The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Culinary Institute of America at St Helena.

The reception was full of good food and some insane dancing! At one point Shannon was even serenaded by Jim and the boys. Ill refrain from posting photos but lets just say it was hilarious!

All photos will be viewable here at the end of the week!

on with the photos….

I think this is my favorite casual bridal party photo this year. Everyone has a different funny expression on their face and their personalities shine through!06sthelenaweddingphotographer_0607sthelenaweddingphotographer_0708weddingatculinaryinstitutesthelena_12weddingatculinaryinstitutesthelena_23

The whole ceremony Jim and Shannon had THE biggest smiles on their faces. They were so happy to get married:11weddingatculinaryinstitutesthelena_15weddingatculinaryinstitutesthelena_26

Right before dinner a chef came down the stairs banging a pan announcing that “Dinner was served!!!” Jim and Shannon led their guests up the stairs to the entrance of the historic barrel room. It was here that Shannon’s father was given this huge mallet to bang on the door for the servers to let them in for dinner. It was then that the door was slid open to reveal some the amazing transformation of the barrel room. Traci Steuteville of Napa Valley Celebrations and Polly of Valley Flora designed 11 different table scapes. I have no idea how many different flower arrangements Valley Flora created but it was impressive!

The icing on the cake that night was the dancing, as I mentioned before. Heres a video to show you just how cute the father daughter dance was!
