Jennifer & Keith

What a beautiful bride! Jen was glowing. Keith picked the venue, Glen Manor which was the site of their ceremony and reception. Guess what…. No rain. It was one of the few weddings this season without rain. In fact, it was hot. The couple chose to do a first sighting, which I am a big fan of. This allowed them to enjoy cocktail hour with friends and family. I know Jennifer from way back so it is always fun to shoot a wedding when you know a ton of the guests. Russell Morin was the caterer and I always look forward to their cheesecake lollipops. I don’t ever eat hors d’oeuvres at cocktail hour. Those are not for the vendors they are for the guests… and I am always busy with dancing and the party once the desert is passed, however every vendor I know will take one second to sneak a cheesecake lollipop. I think Russell Morin and their staff know that and always make sure we get one. The best man speech mad me cry… it was a good one. I hid behind my camera so no one saw…Jen and Keith both got a little teary. It was a great wedding. This couple was just fantastic, they exuded warmth. Jennifer really just wanted to get into jeans in party the rest of the night but she was so beautiful in her dress that I don’t think any of her friends and family would have let her. Of course, the night went so smoothly because of the great staff at Glen Manor but also because they had wedding planner Christine Clark with Planned to Perfection. Thanks to Christine the couples, their friends and their family enjoyed the night and all the little details.

Gillian & Nate

I arrived at the Boston Harbor Hotel and Gillian was the most cool, calm and collected bride I have seen in a long while, and why wouldn’t she be when everything was being taken care of by Sarah True with True Event. I actually left Gillian for a little while to head up stairs and get started on the fabulous details the couple and Sarah had picked to really bring out Gillian and Nate’s style. I think my favorite detail of the night was the Christmas tree which had these little skis with everyone’s name and table number on them. Then the large Vintage skis being used as the couple signage for their guests. I have to say that Sarah comes up with the coolest ideas for the seating cards and signage. Gillian was spectacular. Yes it did rain, but we managed to get outside for a few pictures in between sprinkles. Nate and the guys went first. They were very handsome and all definitely knew how to work the camera! It was an intimate wedding and the couples style really shined though. I think that is the hope for any couple on their wedding day. I had a great time and want to thank you for including me on your big day!

Melissa & Dalton

That was a fun wedding!
Melissa was gorgeous; the whole atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Both Jenna and I started out at the Hyatt for some getting ready photos. After hair and makeup the groomsmen and bridesmaids all headed off in a Newport Trolley to the church ceremony. Melissa arrived in style in a Bentley with her mom and dad. Yes, it was raining again but it didn’t matter!
At the Ceremony I got a small taste of the paparazzi that was invited to the wedding. I think every person in that church had a camera. I think some people even had two cameras! As soon as Melissa hit the end of the aisle all you could hear were the clicking of cameras and people trying to get a shot of Melissa walking down the aisle. It was intense. At the end of the ceremony we all had a good laugh about it!

I could tell this was a dancing bunch but I had no idea that Dalton’s grandmother would be introduced to Poison by BBD. For those of you that know the song, you can imagine how hilarious it was. This wedding party will take the prize for the best intro dances. We had some good ones that you can see below. These were not only planned ahead of time but were obviously rehearsed.

Belle Mer was beautiful. Taking pictures was so much fun with these two! The guests were having a fantastic time mingling, eating, and of course taking pictures.
One of the funniest moments at the reception was when the band played Jesse’s Girl and one of Dalton’s friends proceeded to dance…in a theatrical comedic way, with jazz hands and tip toes with Dalton’s Mother who got in on the theatrics.

This was a great day with a great couple. These two have big hearts and they wear them on their sleeves, and yes, people love them so much that Melissa and Dalton managed to convince 200 people from all over the United States and abroad to meet in RHODE ISLAND. Not a beautiful island somewhere in tropical weather, but Rhode Island in November. That’s how much people love these two. Thanks Sinclair for that…

Thank you all, Melissa, Dalton and camera crazy family for allowing me to be there! And get it on Film!!

Lea & Derek

Lea introduced me to 3rd beach in Middletown. The light was perfect! They had a great time giggling and posing for pictures. These two are as cute as could be together. Their wedding will be on February 20th 2010, however the place in still being determined! We can’t wait to show you the couple’s reception.

Jessica & Brigham: Ocean Cliff, Newport RI

I was so excited to arrive at Ocean Cliff and See Jessica, I knew she was going to be gorgeous I was also very excited to meet her dad, Rod and wedding planer extraordinaire. I arrived and was greeted by Brigham with a big umbrella. I would use the word dashing to describe Brigham and the rest of his guys. I made my way upstairs and there was the dress hanging in the big window. Fantastic! Jessica was flawless. The bridesmaids all looked liked runway models. One great moment was when Jessica made her way down the stairs at Ocean Cliff with friends and family eagerly awaiting her entrance. Yes it was raining again but that was fine because we had rain boots! Yes rain boots. Jessica found pink rain boots, which matched her pink umbrellas. She came prepared! I have been wanting to do rain boot pictures for a while so I was excited to finally get the chance.

One moment that always makes me a little teary is when the father of the bride gives away his daughter. Now that I am a mom I will be a mess when that moment comes for my daughter so when photographing Rod giving Jessica away I got a little teary behind the camera.  What can I say I am a big emotional mush ball!!

The wedding was breathe taking I can’t say enough. We received a horn toot from the Queen Marry , which had been sitting in Newport’s harbor. We did manage to get out side in between rainfalls for a few quick pictures.

It was a great cocktail hour and an even better reception filled with fragrant flowers and smiling faces. I am so happy I was part of this day. It really was an honor to be included!
I hope everyone danced their butts off and enjoyed the rest of the night. And I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!IMG_4672

Hillary & Jeff

Hillary was breathtaking. I walked into the bridal room and she was glowing. Even though we had down a pre bridal shoot at White Dress by the Shore I was still taken back by what a beautiful bride she made.

One of my favorite moments was after the ceremony when the horse drawn buggy arrived to wisk the couple off to their cocktail hour. The kids loved it. All the guests loved it. It was one of these picture perfect moments. I completely forgot the name of the two horses but I wanted to take them home. I am sure my husband would mind. They could fit in our small cape… I think my dog Flash might be a little jealous.

The buggy dropped Hillary and Jeff off with me at the point and the kids got to take rides in the buggy during cocktail hour. The water was a perfect blue and their dog even joined us for a few shots. Because of some last minute changes the owner of the club allowed Hillary and Jeff to have their cocktail hour at their home just a few steps sway from the La Grua Center. Sometimes things work out for the best. Besides the fantastic hors d’oeuvres, friends and family gathered in a more intimate setting and the bonus for me was that we were right on the water with a dock and perfect light.

The reception continued at the La Grua Center. Sarah True transformed the Center into Hillary’s vision. You could smell the flowers when you walked in. The floating, white lines and white flowers with hints of sliver made everything seem so intimate. It was gorgeous. The kids even had their own small table that fit right into the décor complete with chocolate lollipops in the shape of horses and coloring. One of my favorite details were the favors which were white personalized boxes with ribbon. Inside were two chocolates and a little bottle of Makers Mark. That is my kind of favor!
Hillary’s dad gave a speech and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. The night rocked on with dancing and cocktails, everything a wedding should be including the happiest couple.

Laura & Tim

I think every bride on the east coast prayed for no rain this year. I was happy to say that we escaped a big storm and the rain just long enough to take some pictures. Laura was beautiful in her dress. She had that glow! After the ceremony in Mystic we all headed off to the Jonathan Edwards Winery in Stonnington for the reception and picture taking. Laura was a trooper in the Vineyards. She did walk barefoot and then slid her shoes on right before we began. (The things that happen behind the scenes that no one really tells you). She and Tim made it look like there had been no rain and that they were just running though the vineyards. LOVED IT! A Thyme to Cook had delicious looking appetizers. Everyone was enjoying cocktail hour so much it was hard to get them into the tent. What I loved about this wedding is that they were truly surrounded by their friends and family you could feel it in the air. Tim comes from a very big family and even though that particular Saturday made it legal, it seems like Laura has been a part of that big family for years.

Taylor & Bobby

What a cute couple! These two lovebirds were married in Newport and later had their reception at Astors Beechwood Mansion. Although they did have a little trouble finding a nice sunny day for their engagement shoot, they lucked out with no rain on their wedding day. Taylor carried a beautiful bouquet of Orchids and her bridesmaids held small bundles of Calla Lilies, all from Stoneblossoms.
Their reception was filled with gold and cream with candles all around. 1149 catered and the food was beautiful and to die for!

I have to say, the first time I saw Bobby I kind of thought he looked a little like Gordon Ramsey! Anyone? Maybe it’s just the hair and that English accent.

Gillian & Nate

I can’t wait for Gillian and Nate’s Wedding.
They both can work the camera which I am very excited about. I also recently received an inspiration board for Gillian and Nate’s wedding from their event designer Sarah True and I just fell in love with the whole look of their up coming wedding. You won’t have to wait too long to see Nate and Gillian’s wedding because it is just a month away.
I had a great time with this shoot and I can’t wait to see Gillian in her wedding dress.
