I had such a wonderful time photographing Emily & Sergey’s intimate wedding at Auberge du Soleil last Friday. The guest list was small but included their closest friends and family members who flew in from all over the world. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful and it was the perfect setting for everyone to relax and really enjoy themselves. The bride and groom had a fun-filled wedding weekend planned for their guests that included a spa day, wine tasting and a farewell brunch….they really know how to celebrate!

Florence and Dave are major foodies, and what a better place to have their wedding then Auberge du Soleil. They opted to see each other before the ceremony and their first site couldn’t have been sweeter. I love the way they look at each other, the day was full of tear jerking moments! I absolutely loved her necklace, pictured below, that was a gift from her mother; I’ve never seen anything like it before. It truly tied into their whole Napa Valley theme….great food and great wine! The weather was perfect and the day was made all the more beautiful with Floral Designs by Jessica Switala of Fleurs de France.

2010 Year In Review | West Coast | Part III

Samantha and Brian’s wedding at Hans Fahden in Calistoga was one to remember. They wore Hawaiian leis to honor part of Samantha’ family. So the bridesmaids carried bouquets for the ceremony and donned leis for the rest of the night. How neat!

Greg and Katie came out from Brooklyn to get married at The Lodge at Sonoma. I love that they incorporated so many parts of their lives in the wedding day: the Brooklyn subway train, a ring passed down from Greg’s Greek side, Christmas crackers and a “fort” of photos from their past.

And Greg takes the prize for best wedding entertainment of the year! He’s in a band so he did a serenade to Katie. Tears and chills throughout the room!

Stephanie and Andrew’s Elopement at the Carneros Inn was my last wedding before little man arrived! 12 people total, all from NY. His mom married them.

Stephanie found unique bow ties for all of the men. Her little touch for the wedding.

Carol and Denys’ wedding was covered by Adeline & Grace Photography associate photographer Marita. They lucked out with an incredibly beautiful morning wedding at Auberge du Soleil. It was supposed to rain!

Catherine & Mike’s wedding was also photographed by Associate photographer Marita. This one took place close to home… at the Arsenal where my studio is located! Talk about an easy commute.

2010 Year In Review | West Coast | Part II

The end of May and beginning of June I was at a very familiar wedding venue: Auberge du Soleil. Which is where Texan’s Brinkley and Jeff tied the knot.

Loved their dance moves!

Two or three times a year I have a midweek wedding… and Julie and Keith’s wedding was one of those! Dee Merz did all the details while Sue Buhagiar did the wonderful flowers.

Next up… the party of the year! Adrienne and Charles know how to throw a day wedding at Auberge! Never seen so many people packed on their dance floor there!

After the dance party of the century we headed to my favorite tree lined road for some romantic photos…

On Sunday, Marie and Tom also got married at Auberge. Marie and Tom both opted for a first sight so they could have more photos. Not only did they tear up, Marita and I also teared up! I also had the great pleasure of working with Erica Carr who did Marie’s hair and makeup. Erica and her staff are the most customer service oriented crew, always checking in with the bride for touch-ups and to make sure she’s 100% happy throughout the day.

And I think this was my favorite favor of the year!

It had been 5 years since I was at Calistoga Ranch… it was too long! Sara and Garth got married on the Fourth of July… we even were lucky to find a flag during our photo session.

I love wedding receptions that happen in wine caves.

Miriam and Peter’s wedding was also one of those weddings that felt like family. Miriam found us through a friend of a friend of a friend who was one of our first clients 6 years ago! They got married in Vallejo and wanted to do some off site nitty gritty feeling photos. So we headed to one of my favorite spots: Mare Island. Old buildings galore!

Special thanks to Peter and Miriam’s entourage for rocking it out!

One of my favorite things about a wedding day is when a couple opts to do a first sight. It not only helps the timeline of the wedding but it allows for a small time alone together without the hustle and bustle of the wedding day. When Karl and Subadra had their first sight Karl did the happy dance. I have to say it was THE cutest thing EVER! She looked stunning and I think it really started the day off well After taking a few portraits in the olive grove at Auberge du Soleil we took a quick trip down the road to find some vine with yummy fall colors. And that we did! We then went back for their ceremony which was a blend of both Western and Indian traditions. After dinner the dance floor was on fire… you two can dance!

This is the Mangala sutra that Karl placed around Subadras neck during the ceremony. In Western culture this would the equivalent of placing a ring on each others fingers. The most important part of an Indian wedding ceremony is when Karl places this necklace around her.

As favors Subadra and Karl gave each of their guests a small dish from India… I thought it tied perfectly into the day with the colors and the blend of cultures:

Auberge du Soleil Wedding Photography | Teresa and Vince

This day was a little different than most days… we started the day off with a first sight! We started right into photos of Teresa and Vince so that they could enjoy the rest of their wedding day. I cant tell you how often I hear from my couples that they were happy they finished all of their photos before the ceremony. More time to visit with out of town guests and let yourself enjoy the evening. Teresa and Vince took it a step further and completed all of the family photos beforehand too! We visited a few sites around Napa Valley before returning to Auberge du Soleil where their ceremony and reception took place. The rest of the day was fun and relaxed with 5 star food and a little bit of dancing with the stars action! (see last photo)

Vince and Teresa: you two are such beautiful people inside and out… I’m so glad you two met by chance, it was truly meant to be. Hope the reception in Italy was fabulous and you brought a few new recipes back to share

Nathan and Louisa know how to party! Two amazing days in a row… the first day being a welcome dinner at Merryvale Winery in St Helena. The Spanish theme was a nod to Nathans Spanish roots. The night was complete with paella from Gerard’s Paella + sparkly red shoes to continue the theme. Both days wouldnt have been possible without the wonderfully talented Dee Merz taking care of all of the details.

quite possibly the sexiest shoes on the face of the planet!

The next big day was the wedding day, held at Auberge du Soleil. My favorite flower hands down is blue hydrangea, so Louisa’s bouquet spoke to my heart:

They opted for a first sight, so that they could enjoy the party later… and I think Nathan’s face was soooo worth doing photos beforehand:
