Auberge du Soleil Wedding Photography | Teresa and Vince

This day was a little different than most days… we started the day off with a first sight! We started right into photos of Teresa and Vince so that they could enjoy the rest of their wedding day. I cant tell you how often I hear from my couples that they were happy they finished all of their photos before the ceremony. More time to visit with out of town guests and let yourself enjoy the evening. Teresa and Vince took it a step further and completed all of the family photos beforehand too! We visited a few sites around Napa Valley before returning to Auberge du Soleil where their ceremony and reception took place. The rest of the day was fun and relaxed with 5 star food and a little bit of dancing with the stars action! (see last photo)

Vince and Teresa: you two are such beautiful people inside and out… I’m so glad you two met by chance, it was truly meant to be. Hope the reception in Italy was fabulous and you brought a few new recipes back to share

Nathan and Louisa know how to party! Two amazing days in a row… the first day being a welcome dinner at Merryvale Winery in St Helena. The Spanish theme was a nod to Nathans Spanish roots. The night was complete with paella from Gerard’s Paella + sparkly red shoes to continue the theme. Both days wouldnt have been possible without the wonderfully talented Dee Merz taking care of all of the details.

The next big day was the wedding day, held at Auberge du Soleil. My favorite flower hands down is blue hydrangea, so Louisa’s bouquet spoke to my heart:

They opted for a first sight, so that they could enjoy the party later… and I think Nathan’s face was soooo worth doing photos beforehand:

Ive said it before and I’ll say it again… I love it when a couple opts to add lighting to a room. It adds that extra special touch. Lighting by The Lux.

Auberge du Soleil Wedding Photography | Juliana and Daniel

From the first time I met Daniel and Juliana I adored them. They have this love and affection towards each other that anyone would be jealous of. Whenever Juliana is around Daniel a huge smile comes across her face. This calmness and presence comes over her. Daniel is the kind of person where you instantly feel like one of his closest friends, even family. Their love and affection towards their children and family is one of a kind and reminds me what family is all about.

The first time we met back in March was also the week of Daniel’s birthday. Juliana had a whole birthday week planned out for them, however Daniel had NO idea what he was doing. Daniel returned the favor just a few short months later when they returned to California for their wedding. He called me a few weeks before the wedding and explained that he wanted to get Juliana a camera for her wedding present. I thought this conversation was turning into a Nikon vs Canon debate. But no, I was sooo wrong! Daniel wanted to surprise Juliana with personal photo lessons and a photo safari with me! Tell me that isn’t the sweetest thing EVER! (ok, I might be biased) I surprised Juliana two weeks ago by walking into the same restaurant they were having lunch in! We hung out the rest of the day in taking photos and learning how to use her new camera.

The following week when all of their family was in town they met up to have their rehearsal dinner at Hall Rutherford. Talk about wow factor:

Their wedding the next day was at Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford. Surrounded by their family and friends Julina and Daniel promised themselves to one another. The rest of the day was full of food, dancing and a little bit of the sprinkler dance! Jack….

But wait! There was one more surprise. The honeymoon! Juliana had no idea where they were going, she thinks its in California. OK, inquiring minds want to know! Juliana and Daniel I hope the honeymoon lasts forever and you keep surprising each other for years to come. Thank you for being such amazing people and welcoming me into your lives with open arms.

One of my other favorite moments of the day. Juliana’s father walked her halfway down the aisle, and her son Jack walked her the remaining half. The look on her fathers face says it all.

Napa Valley Wedding Photography | Ashleigh and Michael

Fun Fact: This was a bi-coastal wedding in a way: Ashleigh and Micheal booked me, then Ashleigh’s brother Brigham proposed to Jessica and booked Erica for their east coast wedding! Check back in October for their wedding in Newport!

Most Memorable Moment: Ok, this is a selfish memorable moment M & A: Before the wedding started I was taking test exposures for the processional shots. All of a sudden 3 guests start heckling me that “we cant believe Jim (Ashleigh’s dad) allowed a Canon to photograph her daughters wedding!” huh? Turns out her dad works at Nikon. I had no idea! They kept making jokes that if I missed a shot their Nikons would surely capture it!

When I got home from Ashleigh and Michael’s wedding last week I was on visual overload. So much to see, photograph, beauty was everywhere I turned. Thats what you get when you photograph a wedding coordinators wedding! Michael and Ashleigh enlisted the help of Pacific Events, based out of Las Vegas where they are from. Their crew brought in all the lighting, flowers and Manzanita trees in the week before and worked all night long and all day to get everything ready. The final product was unbelievable. If I had to describe it in one sentence it would be a mix of old school Hollywood glamor with little accents of diamonds throughout. Stunning! Auberge was transformed!

I could go on and on about the day but I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Auberge du Soleil Wedding Photos | Derek and Kate

Fun Fact: Kate and Derek registered at REI. this is why I love them!! its so fitting for them, especially since their honeymooning camping style!

When I met Derek and Kate last month we clicked instantly. There’s just something about them that I love… maybe that they are utterly and completely in love with each other! Last Thursday 35 of their closest friends and family met at Auberge to celebrate their wedding. The big party took place on Saturday at Kate’s parents house with a laid back BBQ where one of her uncles fulfilled a family tradition of cooking for family weddings.

During the ceremony the rings were passed around so that the guests could give their well wishes and blessing to the couple. Kate’s sister Megan rubbed the ring on her pregnant belly. Too funny!
