Dave was itchin’ to show off his funny side. I said let loose!

Some guy face planted off his bike and Brad came to the rescue! Soon enough a fire truck and ambulance were on their way and the chance of ever making it to Coit Tower in the next 30 minutes were slim to none so I suggested we go to the next location to try to salvage what light we had left. And that we did. We explored the presidio and eventually made it back to Coit Tower with minutes of light left.

Its not too often that I’m invited to spend a week with a family to document a wedding right? I’ve photographed several Indian weddings over the past few years but this was the first where I was asked to be a part of documenting every days events and ceremonies. It was such a beautiful week: the ceremonies, the colors, the dancing and seeing so many of their friends and family come together to see them get married. The couple is so lucky to have the friends and family that they do. They were there every part of the way through the whole planning process…. all of the ceremony rehearsals and then sat next to them at the ceremony. You both are so lucky!

The Puja was the first event where close friends and family came together to pray for the upcoming week:

We snuck out  front for a few quick photos just as the sun was almost gone… magically the flash looks pretty good!

The following week continued with the Mehndi where all of the girls get together to have henna applied for the upcoming ceremony. This is the result below:

The night before the wedding was the Garba which is one big dance! So hard to keep up since I have no rhythm

The Brides’s mother… so pretty! You cant see it here but her mothers eyes are the most intense green color Ive ever seen.

Marci and Nick… thanks for hanging in there. I know the traffic was horrible that day but I think these were absolutely worth it! (we had our session the week the bay bridge was closed. took us 2 + hours to get into the city! yikes!)

There was a common theme running throughout Colleen and Robs wedding day: dancing and laughter. And boy was there dancing! I arrived at the Argonaut Hotel where Colleen was getting ready to find her just finishing with her hair and makeup. As soon as that was finished she practiced her father-daughter dance with her dad in the middle of the hotel suite… just to make sure they would both be in step just a few hours later at the reception. : )

As the ceremony was about to start I think the girls were getting a little antsy… ready for the ceremony to start already. So to pass the time they danced. In the middle of Grace Cathedral. A few of the girls were bustin out Elaine moves!

After the ceremony it was onto the Log Cabin in the Presidio. That log cabin was utterly transformed thanks to the help of Melissa Panico of Map Events, Creative Lighting and Flowers by a Simple Ceremony. Make sure to check out the details at the end of this post. Stunning!

But of course, the night would not have been complete with more dancing…. who knew that the dance floor would be that packed?!! It was crazy out there! Colleen and Rob, your dancing photos put the biggest smiles on my face. And for the general readers here: I did not post them just in case anyone would be offended by having their crazy dance moves on the blog. But you guys rocked the dance floor, all thanks to the great band The Fundamentals.
