I love weddings where we feel like were instantly part of the family… I think its Brian and Samantha’s Midwest personalities too One of the really neat things they incorporated was Hawaiian Leis. Part of their extended family is from Hawaii, so for the first part of the day the girls carried around their bouquets. After the ceremony they switched it up to wearing Leis flown in from Hawaii. Pretty sweet!

If I had to use one word to describe Olivia and Jeff and their wedding day it would be the word passion. Their love for each other and the joy their friends and family shared with them was so incredibly beautiful. What a great way to end the 2009 wedding season for me! Their ceremony took place at Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford and after some yummy cocktails and Hors d’œuvres they headed up to Hall Rutherford. Hall is such an impressive place to have a dinner… You’ll see what I mean in a second…

Shelbie and Geo’s Wedding rocked because:

1. They celebrate monthaversaries. Never heard of this term before? Well its coined by Shelbie and Geo. They are so darn cute and in love that they celebrate their anniversary every month on the 25th. So their wedding date was on their 33rd monthaversary.

2. In ode to Shelbie and Geo, Geo’s best man made a countdown from 25 on some fun facts about Shelbie and Geo. I think the crowds favorite was “15: The amount of times Geo updates his facebook status… or the number of times Shelbie and Geo comment on eachother” LOVE!

3. Shelbie had custom purses made for her bridesmaids. Each one was different so suit the personality of each girl!

4. Geo had a grooms cake that was a Storm Trouper.

5. The first dance song. If you were there we have an inside joke to share.

6. Shelbie and Geo opted for a first sight. So much fun! Its so great to see a grooms reaction the first time seeing his bride. Its such a private special moment! The first photo below is just after their first sight.

7. The bridal party got up and sang during the ceremony. Nothing traditional at all… a little Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz song called Lucky.

8. They had their wedding at Villagio Inn and Spa in Yountville and hired Wedding Planner Dee Merz to pull every last detail together for them. Dee rocks, you really have no idea! They trusted Michael Holmes with the the event and floral design. They hired Anton Lorimer who I’ve been dying to work with for-ev-er to capture the video portion of the day. And to make sure everyone looked fab while being photographed Shelbie and Geo brought in the Dream Team for hair and makeup. Talk about a great group of wedding vendors!!

You know a wedding was fun when:

1. The Bride gets ready in a big pink mansion.

2. Laura was given a flask that attached to her garter *seen below*

3. The groomsmen all have different cuff links: skier, beer stein, tanker, cell phone….

4. Laura and Jon’s children are part of the ceremony: Tahoe and Zermatt their dogs

5. Limoncello was served before the ceremony.

6. The bridal party + the bride and groom dance in to the them song of Austin Powers. Freaking HILARIOUS!

7. You have a couple that makes you want to cry because they are so darn in love!!!

Laura and Jon, thank you for making my face hurt from laughing all day. Hope the month long honeymoon was fun… see you soon!

Laura’s Man of Honor was the best Man of Honor a girl could ask for…. he held her bouquet, held her dress everywhere we went, and when her veil fell out during the ceremony we quickly learned he knew how to use a bobby pin too! lol!

Harvest Inn Wedding Photography | Mallory and Chris

Mallory and Chris’ wedding had this excitement about it. As soon as we arrived to start the prep photos and well into the night the energy was just there. Especially at the end of the night! You know the dance floor is crazy when grandma comes out and dances with a groomsmen…. and of course dad busts out the sprinkler. LOVE IT!

I had a great time you two, I hope the move to Denver went well and you are settling in ok.

Carneros Inn Napa Wedding Photographer | Nina & Davis

What could be better than two wedding dresses, two pairs of fabulous Manolos and two weddings? That Nina and Davis are married! Their friends and family couldnt be happier for them either! I loved hearing her friend Darcy’s rendition of how they first met… it was a completely different spin that what I first mentioned on their engagement session post.

Nina and Davis were both in New Orleans and happened to see each other from across the room at a restaurant. Davis, being the guy that he is sent a glass of champagne to Nina. Darcy, the friend that was with her at the resturtant was completely excited looking around the room to check out the guy that mysteriously sent over a glass of champagne to her best friend. Nina was calm, cool and collected throughout the whole thing and agreed to meet up with Davis later. But see, that’s just Nina. Calm, cool and collected. Smart and sexy, she never breaks a sweat or panics when things dont go according to plan. But all of her planning for the wedding day fell into place and it was perfect!

A special thanks goes out to Andy, Randy, Jay and Will for all of your help with the family portraits. You guys rock!
